Empirical Model of the Relationship of Health-Related Quality of Life to Client Need and Vulnerability Factors

Empirical models were developed to show the relationship between service need, vulnerability, and demographic factors and the level of overall self-reported quality of life at the time that the patient was enrolled in the program.

Several service need and vulnerability factors are jointly predictive of the average levels of quality of life at the time of program enrollment.

In interpreting this Knowledge Item, and all others in this section on Quality of Life and Health, remember that the ratings of quality of life, symptom impact, and healthcare utilization are based on patient self reports.
