Missing Data in Service Needs-Vulnerabilities

Four methods are described for dealing with patterns of missing data among 15 service needs and vulnerabilities indicators so that a total score may be formed that can be used for advanced analyses throughout this Knowledge Base. We use Method 4 based on E-M estimation of missing data for the patients with total scores formed only for those patients with 5 or less missing indicators. The estimates obtained in this fashion are highly correlated with those obtained using other methods, although our method is conservative and results in the total sample of 4804 patients being reduced to 2114 on whom the total score is formed.
