Training Attributes that Account for High Training Quality Ratings: Trainee Professional Background

In the 604 trainings provided by seven Cooperative Agreement projects (6,638 trainees), trainees rated their immediate post-training reactions to the training on three scales – trainer knowledge, training quality, usefulness. Ratings on these scales were highly correlated, and a reliable composite score was formed (with an internal consistency of .84). The average training quality rating was 4.30 (s.d. = .35) on a scale from "poor" (1) to "excellent" (5). The 604 trainings were, on average, perceived as between "very good" and "excellent." Training quality ratings were not strongly related to the type of professionals trained.
