Module 9

Agency Cohesiveness Rating Form: Final Draft of September 14, 1995

Main Purpose The purpose of this module is to develop a method for rating the cohesiveness of provider networks in a given services catchment area. By allowing agencies to rate their willingness to work with one another, natural coalitions can be identified.
Description
  • The Cohesiveness Girds are customized for each project by substituting the names of agencies in the potential provider network.
  • One or more persons from each agency rates the other agencies on several dimensions.
  • Multidimensional scaling with cluster analysis is used to determine a "map" of the provider agencies based on their willingness to work together and provide cross-referrals.
  • Administered in 3-5 minutes at Coalition or other group meetings.
  • Self administered.
Target Projects for Form
  • Any project seeking to change the overall infrastructure in its catchment area regarding services for one or more target groups.
Major Evaluation Function
  • Documenting change in the way that agencies in a particular catchment area view one another. Maps of providers are compared at different times using replicated multidimensional scaling techniques to document ships in networks.
