Brief Summary of Evaluation Projects
Funded by the Since 1988, The Measurement Group has actively participated in a number of major evaluations and related management studies including the following projects: · Technical assistance and consulting to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Office of Minority Health on development of indicators and measures of cultural competence for HRSA’s direct service delivery programs. (2000-2001) · Evaluation of Ryan White Title I-funded services in the Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) metropolitan area, including medical outcomes, quality of life, and access for patients not in care. (2000-2002) · Statistical analysis and data reporting from a survey about perinatal HIV testing and counseling practices among women living with HIV/AIDS who gave birth in Cook County, Illinois. (1999) · Lead role in the evaluation and dissemination technical assistance center for the 27 HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) funded in 1994 with Dr. Huba serving as the Director of that Evaluation and Dissemination Center (EDC) and Dr. Melchior serving as the Associate Director for evaluation. (1994-2001) · Evaluation and Dissemination Center for a 10-site Cooperative Agreement of projects evaluating the community implementation of perinatal ZDV prophylaxis to lower the rates of mother-to-child transmission of HIV generalizing from the principles established in the ACTG 076 study. (1995-1996) · Local evaluations for five HRSA Special Projects of National Significance including those associated with a comprehensive outreach and health care clinic model for homeless youth in Hollywood (Childrens Hospital Los Angeles: 1993-1999), an empowerment model for youth living with HIV in San Francisco (Health Initiatives for Youth: 1996-1999), a hospice for AIDS patients operating under capitated care financing (Visiting Nurse Association of Los Angeles: 1995-1999), a drop-in Settlement House for women with HIV which attracts substance abusing women with HIV (PROTOTYPES: 1994-1999), and a collaborative model to change the services infrastructure in the District of Columbia so as to better provide health care services for women with HIV in a project conducted with the Center for Women Policy Studies (1994-1999). · Development of instruments, statistical and data analysis, and report preparation on a five-year evaluation study of Special Programs of National Significance for adolescent HIV prevention and treatment at 10 sites (8 cities) for HRSA.
